Position Title:​​ Accountant (Malaysia)
Reports To: ​​Country Manager, CFO, Finance Manager
Direct Reports:​ NIL
 
Objective of role:
Responsible for the full spectrum financial, accounting and treasury functions of the Company and the Group including those located overseas.

Key accountabilities:

• Manage financial reporting, management reporting, budget preparation, internal controls, taxation and secretarial matters.
  
• Ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting.
  
• Review and improve internal controls and related operational procedures as well as reporting format and contents.
  
• Review and improve on stocks records maintenance, physical controls and stock control procedures.
  
• Review and improve on present information system.
  
• Review work flow of both the Finance Department and those between the Finance Department and other departments and formulate proper SOPs.
  
• Manage treasury function and monitor cash flow closely.
  
• Liaise professionally with banks, tax agent, company secretary, auditors and landlords.
  
• Maintain excellent communication with suppliers and customers and manage accounts receivables and accounts payable properly.
  
• Evaluate feasibility of new projects.
  
• Manage special projects assigned to you by the management.
  
• Assist in system integration.
  
• P & L projection for new store (Evaluating feasibility of new projects).
  
• Review and submit quarterly GST reports to Comptroller of GST for NB & NBJA SG.
  
• Assist in price uploading process (increase in price s or new item).
  
• To closely monitor cash flow position daily
  
• To ensure accuracy in stock receipt and reconcile trade supplier statement monthly
  
• To review the flow of operation from time to time. (from purchase to receipt to billing to payment)
  
• To verify margin on sales invoices issue to customer according to the SOP
  
• To implement 2 payment date to suppliers
  
• To review daily Monthly Sales reports (prepared by Accounts) and Monthly Sales reports (per POS) that was checked by Accounts Executive
  
• To review Suppliers’ payment vouchers and cheques prepared by Accounts Exec
  
• Be familiar with the whole POS system menu in order to improve the current and future verification of whole POS system.
  
• To liaise with auditors, tax agent and corporate secretary and ensure all statutory requirements and deadline are adhere to
  
• To review customer collection and aging monthly
  
• To review customer credit term and prepare reminders letter to due collections.
  
• To liaise with bankers, etc
  
• To assess and train Accounts staff for any new procedure and be familiar with the whole accounting POS system.
  
• To recruit, assess and train new staff for Accounts
  
• To review insurance policy and apply for additional insurance when required.
  

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Accountancy or related field.

• At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
